The data ledger
What Airport Taxi Ajax knows about you, and why
Short version: we collect only what a taxi dispatch needs to run your trip, we sell none of it, and you can ask to see or erase it whenever you like. The longer version follows.
Each field, and its job
- Your name
- So the driver's greeting and the name board at arrivals match the person they're collecting.
- Pickup & drop-off addresses
- To place your trip in a fare zone, plan the route, and send the car to the right door.
- Email address
- Where the request summary and the written fare confirmation get delivered.
- Phone number
- For text updates about the trip — the confirmed fare, then the driver and vehicle — and for a call if something urgent changes.
- Travel date & time
- Scheduling the car; for airport arrivals it also lets dispatch match your booking to live flight data.
- Passenger & luggage counts, notes
- Choosing the right vehicle and preparing anything special — car seats, extra baggage room, gate codes.
Where the information lives
Booking records sit in an encrypted database on infrastructure we control, reachable only by the dispatch team. Two categories of helper touch pieces of it: an email delivery service (to send your confirmations) and an SMS gateway (to send trip texts). Each receives only what its job requires — never your full booking history. The booking form itself is shielded by a challenge widget from our security provider, which processes technical signals from your browser to filter out automated abuse.
What we never do
- Sell, rent, or trade your details to advertisers or data brokers — full stop.
- Send marketing texts or newsletters you didn't ask for; every message we send concerns a trip you booked.
- Run advertising trackers or social-media pixels on this site.
- Keep payment card numbers — cards are handled entirely by the terminal in the vehicle.
How long records stay
Completed trip records are retained for bookkeeping and tax purposes for the period Canadian law requires, then purged. Records tied to an abandoned or cancelled request that never became a trip are cleared far sooner during routine housekeeping.
Your side of the ledger
Under Canada's federal privacy law (PIPEDA), you can ask what we hold about you, have inaccuracies fixed, or request deletion of anything we aren't legally obliged to keep. One email to [email protected] starts any of the three — expect an answer within thirty days, usually much faster.
